

Decorative Screen MakingEver wanted to create a feature fire screen to fit your fireplace or perhaps make a decorative changing/ dividing screen that adds glamour to a room? Join this weekend workshop and spend time on the first day making your screen using the wood provided and come back on Sunday to decorate it with paint, decoupage or collage work.

Saturday 10am - 1pm
Toby Downing and Bill Hamblett will start the screen workshop by overseeing the frame making. Come along with your desired measurement on Saturday morning and be assured that there will be plenty of help available and you'll work under our supervision. A maximum of 2 panels at 5' x 2' is allowed and materials are provided.
Sunday 10am - 4pm
Britta Winkler, famous for her driftwood Christmas Tree workshops in December, will help you create your own design and supervise the creating. She will explain some ways of weaving or sewing materials to fit into your perfect frame and be at hand to offer inspiration if needed. Participants are encouraged to bring colourful/ decorative materials with them eg wrapping paper, old postcards, stamps, newspaper clippings, old books, comic pages and collections of bottle tops, shells, corks, seed heads and dried beans or pulses.
This workshop is suitable for ages 16 + and we require a minimum of 7 people to take part and there are a maximum of 15 places available.
